We’ve listened to the feedback from you all and decided to extend our workshop, allowing us to visit more places and go more in depth in our classroom sessions.

This breathtaking coastline is untouched and unlocks some of the most magical landscapes the Pacific Northwest possesses under the Milky Way. These mystical scenes provide ever-changing conditions that can be moody with the fog rolling in to fiery coastal sunsets to brilliant night skies. With limited group sizes, you'll receive personalized attention and learn how to take advantage of any condition to produce stunning and unique images. Join us for this unforgettable adventure!

We will be including a Pre and Post Workshop Group Zoom Editing Session to cover putting it all together in the digital darkroom, this will be screen recorded for you to be able to finish your images at your leisure.

⛰ All experience levels are welcome.

We are limiting each group to 8 students with 2 instructors, to ensure that everyone receives our attention and to keep compositional possibilities uncluttered.

This workshop is very much based on weather so we have kept the itinerary flexible to be able to pursue the best available light for the scene. If it rains or conditions prove unsafe to venture out we will work on post processing, image critiques and in classroom sessions, there's always so much to learn both in field and in the classroom!

This workshop will require moderate hiking (no more than 2 miles) through rocky terrain.

This workshop does NOT include:

- Ground Transportation or Airfare from your home to Brookings, Oregon

- Ground Transportation to all shooting locations.

- Meals, Drinks and Snacks
You will need to bring the following with you:

- DSLR or Mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens

- A wide angle fast lens, you will need a minimum of 24mm and f/2.8 lens (although I would recommend a 16mm)

- A mid range lens (24-70mm or similar)

- A telephoto lens (recommended 200mm at a minimum)

- A sturdy tripod, if you'd like a recommendation on tripods, I use a Slik USA Pro CF 734 Legs with 200DQ Ballhead this is a great lightweight and sturdy option. (Slik is giving 15% discount to anyone wishing to upgrade their gear, use code missjess15)

- Laptop for post processing sessions

- Memory cards, external hard drive

- Extra Batteries and chargers

- Rain fly for your camera & bag

- Shutter release cable

- Headlamp (white light recommended, preferably without a red light)

- A circular polarizer is NECESSARY for photographing reflections as well as these coastal areas, so be sure to bring one

- Highly recommended that you bring a neutral density filter, this will allow you to capture longer exposures along the coastline

- If you have more filters please bring them as we can show you how and when to use them. If you'd like a recommendation on filters, I use the Cokin EVO System with Polarizer (Z Series), Soft Grad 3 Stop, ND 6, and ND 10. - You will need sturdy hiking shoes. Although most locations won't require an extreme amount of hiking you will still need sturdy shoes with good grip.

- Lots of layers. Temperatures have highs of 70F and lows of 50F

- A warm jacket. Again temperatures at night can drop significantly especially when it is windy.

- A rain jacket. The coastal weather can be very wet, so keeping dry is important in this climate.
